Telephone Campaign 2011 Aims
This summer’s campaign aims to achieve:-
- Good relations with our OLs and OGs through interesting conversations
- Exchange of news and views
- Find lost friends – put people back in touch with each other
- Information on careers – for students and alumni
- Feedback on publications and events
- Raise funds for the Burton Bursaries and the Schools’ Fund
With your help, we aim to complete the following Schools’ Fund projects:-
The Burton Bursaries helps provide more means-tested fees assistance for less well off families. We already have funded one Y7 place, please help us provide another two bursary places next year.
The LGS Sixth Form Centre in H1 – this project is already underway, the original roof beams and full length glad window are now revealed, the mezzanine level creates study and social space for sixth formers.
The LHS Year 13 Area in the Chesterton Building – a complete refurbishment of the Y13 Common Room, this project has also been assisted by a grant from the LHS PA.
Fairfield’s Reception Class Outdoor Play Area – this new patio area faces the playing field on the Walks side, the project has also been supported by Fairfield PTA.
Music School Instruments and Workshops - we need to add to the Y2 Strings collection for next year and also help fund more workshops following the success of these last autumn.
